Rose Veal
What is Rose Veal?
Rose veal is the meat from a calf that has been raised on pasture with a diverse diet. You will not find white veal on our farm. Why? Because our calves are raised on pasture with other calves and rotate through diverse swards with our sheep flock. This creates a much higher quality and higher welfare product you can feel great about enjoying.
What do they eat?
Depending on the season and number of calves, they are drinking milk from a nurse cow or hand fed milk replace, as well as having free choice access to hay and pasture. Calves enjoy the same freedom as the rest of the livestock on the farm and are only raised seasonally.
Freedom!
When people picture veal calves, they think of animals that are unable to turn around and are fed exclusively milk. Looking to the past, we instead raise all of our calves in high welfare environments as was historically done. This creates a fantastic product that not only is delicious, but also is much more environmentally friendly and of a much higher welfare standard. Enjoy veal again with a happy heart.
